Sheep Dipping

If you need to buy or use sheep dip products, then under the Medicines (Exemptions for Merchants in Veterinary Drugs) Order 1998 you will need to hold a current qualification.

Qualification Overview:

This covers preparing to dip sheep by demonstrating an understanding and knowledge of legislative, welfare and environmental requirements, protective clothing, record keeping, control of external parasites, sheep diseases and dip disposal. An optional unit on practical dipping will put this knowledge in to practice.

Candidates need to undertake a computer-based test (at the BMR office) before completing an oral, practical test on site.
