An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Shepherd / Stockperson to join a progressive mixed farming business. The successful applicant will play a leading role in the management of 1,200 self- replacing Lleyn ewes and 140 spring-calving suckler cows, taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the livestock enterprises while working closely with the wider farm team.
Applications are sort from individuals with excellent stockmanship, strong organisational skills and a genuine passion for livestock farming. Good working sheepdogs are essential. The role would suit either an experienced stockperson looking for greater responsibility or a capable and ambitious candidate keen to further develop their career within a modern and progressive farming business.

Field Operative/Growing Team Member
Location Duns and surrounding area
Monday to Friday, 39-hours/week (you will need to be flexible throughout planting, irrigation & harvest)
£13.39 per hour (overtime at 1.5x)
The Greenvale Growing Team is looking for an enthusiastic individual. Reporting to the Growing Operations Manager you will be responsible for assisting the team during planting, irrigation, harvest and with workshop maintenance.
Main Responsibilities:
Planting – driving a tractor with a destone
• Irrigation – setting up irrigation equipment in the fields. Assisting with the operation and maintenance of the equipment throughout the season, when required
• Harvest – driving a tractor and trailer. Running alongside the harvester your boxes will be filled to be taken to the stores to be unloaded
• Workshop – general machinery maintenance
Skills Required:
• The ideal candidate will be flexible to change working hours at short notice in accordance with the needs of the business
•Will be a self-motivated team player
• Will have a valid driving licence and understanding of agricultural machinery are essential criteria for this role
• A telescopic and counterbalance forklift licence will be advantageous

This is a fulfilling, hands-on and varied role for someone who is technically minded, curious and enjoys making a difference. A problem solving attitude is essential.
The plant is a continuous process that does not like to stop and you would be essential in sustaining this. Electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electronic processes are all involved but not all these skills are essential to begin with; however, you will need to become familiar with them all over time.
You will need a commitment to Health & Safety and the ability to use a simple system to add on and draw off tasks. This is a full time job with a competitive salary depending on experience.

Experienced GFW required to join a dedicated team on farm near Duns.
Must be motivated, diligent, and reliable. Duties will include day-to-day stock work and tractor work, with every 3rd weekend on.
The farm has a pig enterprise with 350 sows and is looking to expand arable contracting business in SE Scotland. Stock experience would be an advantage whilst with pig not essential as pig training will be applied on farm.
The company has an ongoing training program for all employees and is fully compliant in all health and safety awareness programmes.
