Running from 9.00am to 1.00pm at Tweed Horizons this half day course aims to provide delegates with :-

• An understanding the principles of fire development and fire safety issues

• An understanding the legal requirements in relation to fire safety

• The ability to identify the fire precaution measures available in the workplace and how to manage them

• An understanding different evacuation systems and how to put them into practice safely

• Information on human behaviour and associated problems in a fire situation

• An understanding the basis of a fire risk assessment

• Details of the role and responsibility of the Fire Marshall

• Information on the action to take on discovering a fire

• Information on the action to take on hearing the alarm

• Information on escape routes and assembly point

• Details of the different classes/types of fire

• Details on how to identify and use of the different types of fire extinguishers

• Practical hands-on experience of the use of extinguishers
