A BUSY PEEBLES SHOW PROVIDED VISITORS WITH A REAL TREAT

The Peebles Agricultural Society’s annual show proved to be a huge success among the farmer and livestock breeders of the Scottish Borders and saw a huge crowd of over 5000 visitors attend the one-day event.

The show was held at Nether Horsburgh Farm played and welcomed dozens of exhibitors who were keen to show off the best of their flock.

“This show brings everybody together,” said Jim Currie, show president. “There are a lot of sheep here… the biggest show in Scotland?”

This year the show was bolstered by featuring the North Country Cheviot National Show as part of its programme. In total there were 1122 sheep with exhibitors bringing their finest livestock to display to judges across a range of categories.

There were also 48 young handlers being judged by Cammy Wilson from The Sheep Game who was clearly impressed by the standards on display as he attended the Peebles Show for the first time.

The overall Champion of Champions went to W&J Thomson of Hownam Grange (pictured below).

JP Campbell & Sons picked up the BMR sponsored Scotch Mule prize.
