BMR CELEBRATES A BIG SUCCESS AT BORDER UNION SHOW

The 2025 Border Union Show is the highlight of the agricultural calendar for the Scottish Borders and Northumberland and this year BMR’s stand was filled with visitors both days.

Taking place on 25-26 July at Springwood Park, Kelso the Border Union Show was blessed with good weather this year which may have contributed to the volume of visitors flooding into the show. The ever popular BMR Hog Roast lunch on Saturday was a huge success thanks to Oink of Edinburgh taking charge of the cooking for the first time.

The show was filled with a variety of traditional farming events and over 500 open competitions for horses, livestock and industrial arts. There were also around 200 trade stands offering a huge variety of products and services as well as the Food Fair which welcomed producers from throughout Scotland and beyond.

This year saw the launch of a Careers Hub organised up by the Border Union Agricultural Society (BUAS) and Developing Young Workforce (DYW) Borders which consisted of a number of guest speakers highlighting the need for more young people to take up working places with the sector. BMR’s Manager, Michael Bayne, was among the speakers as he explained how the Pre-Apprenticeship scheme works and benefits it can provide.
