BMR CELEBRATES A SUCCESSFUL ROYAL HIGHLAND SHOW 2025

BMR had a highly successful Royal Highland Show this year with a very well attended stand, popular events and thought-provoking press talks.

Our stand, organised by the Scottish Machinery Ring Association and shared by all the rings, boasted a host of information and entertainment with the Tenstar simulator testing visitors skills to see if they could top our leaderboard. There was also a range of demonstrations including useful first aid techniques, chainsaw safety tip and ATV best practice.

There was also the chance to win a brand-new Honda ATV in our Grand Prize Draw with all proceeds going to the very worthy RSABI and FarmStrong Scotland charities. The overall winner was Marina Smith from Shetland who has now received her £8000 prize which also includes a safety helmet and an ATV training course.

All the rings also ran individual competitions offering a member from each ring £200 towards a training course of their choice: the BMR member who receives our prize is Andrew Rodger of Stobswood, Duns.

The opening day of the Royal Highland Show focused on pre-apprentices and their mentors with Jim Fairlie, Minister of Agriculture and Connectivity giving a keynote speech about the importance of developing the young workforce within agriculture.

There were also talks from pre-apprentices Scott Cunningham and Maddie Cairney along with mentor Robert Wallace or Craigley Farms all supporting the need for the industry to boost its support of the younger generation.

As you can see from the photos below the show stand was very busy over the four days of the show and the weather was surprisingly well behaved too.
