MEAT VOUCHER SCHEME LAUNCHES FOR 2025/26

Quality Meat Scotland’s (QMS’s) Meat Voucher Scheme is back, giving teachers the chance to bring Scotch beef, lamb, and pork straight into their classrooms.

The scheme allows teachers to apply for up to £180 worth of vouchers to spend with their local Scotch Butcher Club member on premium Scotch-assured red meat products at any time in the academic year.

“It’s a fantastic way to help schools explore the flavours, nutrition, and versatility of Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb, and Specially Selected Pork,” said Tracy Martin, Reputation Manager at QMS. “The free resources we provide are designed to give teachers confidence in the classroom and inspire pupils to understand more about where their food comes from and the importance of sustainable, locally sourced produce.”

Over 300 schools applyied for vouchers last year, encouraging children to cook with and learn about high-quality, sustainable Scotch red meat.

This year, Tasty Little Pork Week will take place in the week commencing 27 October 2025, Lamb for St. Andrews (Tasty Little Lamb Week) will run in the week commencing 24 November 2025, and Tasty Little Beef Week will be held in the week commencing 9 February 2026.

Schools can also request a visit from a local “Make It Scotch Ambassador”. This programme, launched by QMS, brings together a network of 43 individuals from across Scotland who share a deep passion for farming, food, and education. Whether through hands-on farming sessions, inspiring cookery demonstrations, or personal storytelling, ambassadors connect pupils to the real stories behind Scottish red meat and highlight Scotland’s world-class standards in sustainability, animal welfare, and local pride.
